Read Up on Rustys Rise, Roots in "The Decision To Win"
Fans looking for the full story of Rusty Wallaces relentless climb to the top of stock car racing should check out Rusty Wallace: The Decision To Win, a biography available from David Bull Publishing (www.bullpublishing.com). Written by award-winning NASCAR journalist Bob Zeller, the book describes Rustys lifelong determination to race stock cars, and the long and often difficult road he traveled to success in NASCAR. And its also about his family, friends, and team members who helped him get there. The books title comes from a watershed moment at the start of the 1989 season when Rusty and his crew sat down and decided that no matter what they had to do, no matter how hard they had to work, no matter what obstacles they faced, they would find a way to win the Winston Cup championship. As Rusty puts it: "In 1989, we made the decision to win. The decision to win is a whole lot different than saying, Oh, well do better this year. The decision to win was expecting more". By the end of the year they had succeeded, beating out Dale Earnhardt by just 12 points in one of the most competitive series in memory. Zeller, who previously teamed with David Bull Publishing to write the best-selling Mark Martin: Driven To Race, conducted exhaustive research on every stage of Rusty's colorful career, from his early years racing in the USAC and ASA series, to his first attempt at Winston Cup in 1980, through his disappointing and controversial finish in the 1999 Daytona 500. "Bob did a hell of a job going all through the records," says Rusty, who spent eight months working on the book with Zeller and publisher David Bull. "There's so much stuff I've done, and you forget a lot of these things. Everything in it is about as accurate as it can be." The book is available in two versions: a $24.95 standard softcover and The Publishers Edition, a $79.95 collectors hardcover signed by Rusty and the author. Produced in a limited run of 2,000 individually numbered copies, The Publishers Edition includes an added section featuring Rustys complete NASCAR career record as well as more photos and memorabilia from his scrap books. The softcover is available in all major bookstores nationwide, and in NASCAR specialty stores. The Publishers Edition is available exclusively from David Bull Publishing by calling 1-800-831-1758 or visiting www.bullpublishing.com.
