THE THIRD ANNUAL RUSTY WALLACE "SPLASH FOR KIDS" EVENT TAKES NASCAR TO THE WATERFRONT

MINNEAPOLIS - (April 2, 2002)

Watercraft and NASCAR fans, start your engines! The Third Annual Rusty Wallace "Splash for Kids," a Polaris watercraft charity event, is revving up to make a big splash on Sunday, May 19, on Lake Norman, N.C. NASCAR drivers Rusty Wallace, John Andretti and Ryan Newman, along other NASCAR celebrities, will participate in the event, with proceeds benefiting Children's HeartLink, an international medical charity dedicated to the treatment and prevention of heart disease in needy children.

"Partnering with Rusty, John, Ryan and other NASCAR greats to help an excellent cause like Children's HeartLink is something Polaris takes pride in doing," says Ron Bills, General Manager of Polaris' Watercraft Division. "Offering our watercraft and NASCAR fans a great time and incentives for helping a great cause means that everyone wins."

The Rusty Wallace "Splash for Kids" will take place on May 19 at Ramsey Creek Park on Lake Norman from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a lunch "pit stop" at Long Island Marina. At 4 p.m., there will be a barbeque and a racing memorabilia auction. Fans will have the opportunity to spend the day with Wallace and other NASCAR celebrities as they ride the waves for a great cause.

"This is a great event for everyone involved and I'm glad Polaris continues providing its support and sponsorship," says Rusty Wallace, NASCAR driver. "It's raising money the fun way - by getting out there with fans and fellow NASCAR racers and enjoying a ride on a Polaris watercraft."

Participation in the "Splash for Kids" event involves collecting pledges for Children's HeartLink and submitting them to the organization by no later than May 6 to ensure eligibility. Each donation of $10 or more is an entry to win the Rusty Wallace autographed, custom-painted Polaris "Genesis i" that Wallace will drive during the charity ride. The winner will be announced on May 25 at the Children's HeartLink website: www.childrensheartlink.org.

To be eligible to ride along with Wallace, fans must collect at least $250 in pledges that allows for both a driver and one passenger (riding one watercraft) at the event. Participants without watercraft can opt to ride with one guest on an 80-foot luxury boat, visiting with Wallace, Andretti and Newman before the launch. In addition, land lovers can choose to skip the water by collecting $200 worth in donations to attend the post-ride barbeque and racing memorabilia auction at Ramsey Creek Park immediately following the ride.

Bonus prizes have been added for those who collect larger pledge amounts, including the opportunity to win garage passes for the UAW-GM 500 for those who collect $1,000 in donations. People who collect up to $2,000 worth of donations earn a three-day Carnival Cruise for two to the Bahamas. The grand prize winner - the person raising the highest amount of

donations - becomes an honorary member of Rusty Wallace's Miller Lite Pit Crew and receives
a pit/garage pass for a guest at the UAW-GM 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 13, 2002.

For more information or to request registration materials, people should call Children's HeartLink at (888) 928-6678. Completed registration forms and donations (checks made payable to Children's HeartLink) must be returned to Children's HeartLink by May 6 to ensure eligibility.

Children's HeartLink, founded in Minneapolis in 1969, is an international medical charity dedicated to the treatment and prevention of heart disease in needy children. Children's HeartLink works in partnership with hospitals in developing countries to provide surgery, education and training for medical professionals, technical assistance, rheumatic fever prevention programs and donated equipment and supplies.

With the philosophy "teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime," Children's HeartLink's goal is to help improve the cardiovascular capabilities in less advantaged countries so they can effectively care for children in their region and ultimately be sustainable on their own. Children's HeartLink currently works with hospitals in Kenya, India, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ukraine, Nicaragua and Israel (a site which helps children from Ethiopia, Moldova and the Palestinian Territories).
