RUSTY’S PERFORMANCE IN 2001 EDITION OF THIS RACE:

In last July's Pepsi 400, started 24th, ran second for
majority ofr race before falling to seventh at end.


 
  		 
RUSTY’S PERFORMANCE IN MOST RECENT RACE AT THIS TRACK:

Started 37th and finished 18th in February's Daytona
500…was forced to use a backup car and got caught
up in a late-race crash, yet managed to complete all
but two of the laps.


  		 
RUSTY’S CURRENT RECORD AT THIS TRACK:

In 38 races to date, Rusty is still looking for his first
win on the Daytona track, yet his record does include
five top-five finishes and 15 top-10 finishes

 
 
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:


Single round of qualifying on Thursday, July 4
at 8:00 p.m. for all 43 starting spots. Happy hour
practice on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Race begins at
8:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 6.

 

 
BROADCAST INFORMATION:
Race features live flag-to-flag coverage by NBC-TV
and MRN Radio. A special pre-race show begins
at 7:00 p.m. EDT.

  		 
RUSTY’S TAKE ON RACE:

"We're getting closer and closer to winning one of
these things and that first one could very well come
in this Pepsi 400. The DEI cars (Dale Earnhardt Jr. and
Michael Waltrip) have certainly seemed to have the
deal figured out in the last few races there and everybody else has been running for third place, it
seems. But the thing is that we've been right there
in striking distance and that's where you have to be
to win. It'll be a great feeling to finally win at Daytona,
I can tell you that."
