JOLIET, IL (July 9, 2009)—On the heels of his five straight top-15 finishes in the Nationwide Series, Rusty Wallace Racing's Steve Wallace posted the fourth-fastest time in this afternoon's practice for Friday night's Dollar General 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.
Wallace's best lap of 31.120 seconds (173.522 MPH) came on the 18th of his 19 laps in the session. The session's top-five consisted of Joey Logano, David Reutimann, Kevin Harvick, Wallace and Justin Allgaier.
Said Wallace, "Our No. 66 Chevrolet was really solid in race runs and for one of the first times this year, our car stayed consistent in qualifying trim as well. We won the ARCA race here a few years ago and hopefully, we'll be able to run up front here again tomorrow night."
